Omonia took away the most important thing from this match against Ermis, that is the 3 points. This is the first time Omonia gets any points in 2 months, the last time being in mid-September after a win against ENP Paralimni. 2 months with no positive result is not acceptable at a big club, as is Omonia. A bad run of results (4 losses in a row) and in comes new Greek coach Giannis Anastasiou.

Omonia played with enthusiasm in front of the new coach but the problems in the play are still there to show. The club are still not able to pick up the pace and and are playing ugly football when we are in November and they seem to be still stuck in summer mode. Omonia should dominate such games but are going through hard times and this is felt when they even need the helping hand of the referee to bag the points.

Two penalties were awarded to save Omonia and in both incidents the culprit being Jarchinho going down after being fouled. The second of the penalties looked dubious as Jarchinho went down too easily and some can claim that it was outside the box. Jordi Gomez stepped up to convert the two opportunities and give Omonia some relief.

Mr. Giannis Anastasiou had only three days to be able to pass on his ideas to his new troops. The next match against Doxa Katakopias will be a better measure if Omonia are improving and in the right direction. Matt Derbyshire was "injured" for this match and could not participate as he will look to get back soon and kick start the bad start of the season. Captain Dimitris Christofi got injured at the end of the first half and was replaced and is doubtful to face Doxa.
