APOEL are having another slow start to the season and results have not gone as expected. APOEL have already exited from European competition and lie in the 4th position trying to stay in touch with the strong starts from the two Limassol clubs.

The instability in the members of the coaching staff has reflected on the team and the playing style. APOEL FC suffered throughout last year and only managed to be crowned Champions again due to Apollon not being able to maintain their form in the final rounds of the championship. The same form has carried to the summer and APOEL was not able to overcome Suduva, the Lithuanian champions, in the 1st round of the Champions League. APOEL were given another chance through the Europa League window but that also came to a halt after a bitter night in faraway Astana. Now that the European commitments have ended, APOEL FC can concentrate on the League and the players will have more time to mesh together.

Coach Bruno Baltazar was been given the time during the summer to sign new players and had the additional pressure to produce results on the field immediately after being knocked out of Europe at the early stages. The international break came just at the right time to provide more time for the coach and players to prepare for the beginning of the championship season and get the best out of the new signings, Reza Ghoochannejhad, Musa Al Taamari, Caju, Norbert Balogh, Bautista Cascini and the returning Tomas de Vincenti. APOEL FC have also added new young players and should have given them and the coach some time to gel and create the platform for APOEL FC to return to Europe next season and produce European nights well into November. APOEL FC have had coaching changes during each season for the last 3 years and are continuing the same scenario repeating itself again this season.

Bruno Baltazar has gone since then and replaced by Georgios Kotsis. Georgios Kotsis did not last very long in the hot seat and has been replaced by the Italian Paolo Tremazzani. The debut for the latest coach was against hot AEL and had a mixed performance from the players. The coach wanting a solid performance which was seen by the battling midfield starting the game. The end result of 0-0 was not a surprise and will give a solid base to build on. The new coach needs to deliver in the upcoming game against Alki Oroklini or will be facing the same circumstances as the two previous coaches.
