AEL is having a dream start to the season and although coming back from Nicosia with only one point brought the perfect start to the season to a half that does not keep them away from top of the championship standings. The draw away to APOEL in any season would not be a bad result but the current form of both clubs suggests that AEL would have been able to continue the perfect form. ​

Coach Kerkez has instilled a fighting and winning mentality in the players this summer. The players were disappointed after the APOEL match not to come away with the 3 points. Who would have imagined the reversal in positions between AEL and APOEL at the beginning of the season.

AEL seem to go from strength to strength and deservedly sit at the top of the league. The players are preparing this week for the coming encounter with ENP. The Paralimni side being the newcomers to the division have shown to be a tough side to break down. AEL need to come away with a win to build up to the derby with Apollon in a couple of weeks. The AEL fans will be pumped up and don the club colours all over the streets of Limassol although a majority have stayed away this season from the Tsireio and the famous Gate 3.
